Sugaring hair removal recipe:
2 cups white cane sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup water
The juice from two lemons gave me 1/4 cup, but be sure to strain it to rid any pulp or seeds. You could probably use lemon juice concentrate as well.
Mix ingredients in a heavy sauce pan over a medium-high heat. Stir the mixture often so that it doesn't overheat at the bottom.
This recipe can be used for both face and body sugaring. Many people are turning to this hair removal method because it's more gentle to the skin and less painful than waxing.
After it comes to a boil, turn the heat down to low-medium and simmer for 25 minutes. This length of time is needed to get the final product just right. If it's not cooked long enough, the end sugar hair removal product will be too sticky to work with.
After 25 minutes of simmering, the sugar hair removal result should be a dark amber color. Remove it from the heat and let it cool for about ten minutes .
Now apply little talcum powder where you want to remove the hair. Then spread the sugar paste there slowly with a stick . Take a thick denim cloth and stick over the place and pull in the opposite direction gently. You should use talcum powder first. This is comparitively less painful than any other methods of hair removal and there is no chemicals also. Try it at home.
Did It Turn Out Too Hard?
A couple of people have emailed me saying that the product turned out way too hard. If that happens you Put one tablespoon of water into the mixture and microwave it until it gets hot- which may be a couple of minutes. Remove from microwave and stir. Let it cool down a bit to use as sugaring gel or completely cool to use as sugaring paste.
