Avoid Back Pain......

If you sit in front of a computer screen all day, make sure to sit up straight and keep your feet slightly raised off the floor on a footstool or other low object. Don't sit for long periods; get up and walk around the office or step outside for a break at least every half hour. Wear flat, comfortable shoes. As your stomach grows and your balance shifts, a pair of high heels will only make your posture worse. Always bend from your knees and lift objects and children from a crouching position to minimize the stress on your back. Let someone else lift heavy objects; this is not the time to risk throwing your back out completely. Start an exercise programme early in pregnancy, one that includes stretches that strengthen and stretch muscles that support the back and legs. Don't worry if you're well past your first trimester; you can start a simple stretching routine at any time. Swimming is a particularly good choice for pregnant women because it strengthens your lower ...

Heel pain

Heel pain is the most common complaint. Some of the causes  are arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, heel spurs, and plantar fasciitis. Also exercising too hard, wearing the wrong type of shoes,  or probably standing too long on your feet, can cause foot pain.  Though the pain can be cured easily at home, you should consult the doctor if there are other symptoms like tingling,  numbness, leg cramps, or fever. To get rid of the pain, pamper your feet a little. Soak  them in warm water (add a little salt to the water) for  about 10 minutes. This loosens up the muscles and  relives from pain. it should be then followed with a gentle  massage of the feet. Exercise your feet daily. Follow a simple exercising  schedule (explained above) and just see the results. Wear shoes that fit snugly to your feet. Both loose  and tight footwear can cause you harm. If you are overweight, cut down your calorie intake.  Excess weight ...

Tonsils

What are tonsils and adenoids?   The tonsils are two clumps of tissue, on either side of the throat, embedded in a pocket at the side of the palate (roof of the mouth).  The lower edge of each tonsil is beside the tongue...way in the back of the throat.  The adenoids are a single clump of tissue in the back of the nose (nasopharynx).  They are located (in the adult) on the back wall of the throat (pharynx)...about one inch above the uvula (the little teardrop shaped piece of tissue that hangs down in the middle of the soft palate). What function do they serve?   The tonsils and the adenoids are mostly composed of lymphoid tissue, which is found throughout the gastrointestinal tract and on the base of the tongue.  Lymphoid tissue is composed of lymphocytes...which are mostly involved in antibody production .Since we generally consider antibody production to be a good thing, many studies have been performed to try to clarify the importance o...
