Using your phone while you are in toilet greatly raises hemorrhoid risk

Sitting on the toilet for too long (like when scrolling on your phone) is linked to a higher risk of developing hemorrhoids. Here’s why: Gravity & pressure: Sitting on the toilet puts pressure on the veins in your rectum. The longer you sit, the more strain builds up. Straining: Getting distracted can make you push harder or sit even after you’re done, which increases stress on blood vessels. Circulation: Prolonged sitting reduces blood flow in that area, making hemorrhoid formation more likely. Tips to lower risk: Limit bathroom time — ideally under 5 minutes. Don’t sit and wait — if nothing happens, get up and try again later. Avoid straining; let things happen naturally.
